“The Heyday of the Insensitive Bastards” is based on Robert Boswell’s short story collection and was executed by eight teams of MFA students in a UCLA master class taught by Franco in 2012.
The seven vignettes explore the difference between fantasy and reality, memory and history, and the joy and agony of the human condition.
“Smoke” sees three teen boys in the 60’s as they swap made up tales of sexual conquest and is reminescent of other great coming of age stories.
